Residential Care

Residential Care

Boandik Lodge provides residential care across 4 homes located in Mount Gambier. The services are individualised based on information provided by the resident and their family and an assessment of care needs. The aim is for each person to live a meaningful life as they choose, encouraging people to maintain their independence by providing the support they require in their daily living activities.

Accommodation Payments

Not all residents pay an accommodation payment, only those that have assets above the minimum asset threshold as detailed in the residential care fee schedule. Those residents assessed to pay an accommodation payment can choose to pay by a refundable deposit, a daily payment, or a combination of both.

A refundable deposit is paid as a lump sum amount. A daily payment accrues daily and is paid periodically, for example monthly. A combination payment includes both a partial lump sum and daily payments. The full details of the accommodation payments and examples of combination payments is available in the accommodation pricing schedule in the key features statements section.

Fees

Boandik Lodge does not determine the fees. The standard fee is determined by the Department of Health with Centrelink or the Department of Veteran Affairs being responsible for assessing individual fees that apply.

All residents are required to pay the standard fee which is approximately 85% of the current pension amount. A means tested fee will also apply for residents who are self-funded retirees or do not receive a full pension. This fee is determined by the Department of Health.

Entry Policy

Anyone who believes that they, or members of their family require care should initially make contact with My Aged Care.

Boandik Lodge maintains a waiting list and accommodation is offered according to the individuals need, ensuring that services and accommodation are used for those in greatest need.

It is important for all people who have had an ACAT assessment to apply for an asset assessment from Centrelink or Department of Veterans Affairs. An entry cannot proceed without this documentation.
